I am ultimately responsible for the day to day running of Poggenpohl in the UK market, focusing on key areas of sales, staff, marketing and business finance. Further responsible for achieving the Nobia business goal of 10% Ebit and ensuring the best posible return for the company's investment in our market. currently very focused on growth and are seeking new studio locations within the UK either by acquisition or as a new venture in strategic locations across the UK.

What made you decide to join Nobia?

I joined Nobia as I knew a former colleague that had joined the company 1,5 years before me, he said it was a good company to work for and the role I was looking to fulfill was very exciting.

Please describe your career path within Nobia.

I have worked for Nobia now for 8 years joining the group in 2007. My first role was that of Operations Director for Poggenpohl UK and I was promoted to the role of Managing Director in November 2012.

What kinds of skills or experience are valuable to have in your role?

A wide reaching skill set built on many years of experience running large teams of people. Having a good commercial awareness of the business and the market we operate within. Understanding how to get the best from your team, also being prepared to make decisive and sometimes unpopular decisions. Lastly have good communication skills.

What are you working on right now?

At the moment we have just introduced a Nobia Group we have just introduced a Nobia Group program aiming at enhancing the in-store customer experience into the Poggenpohl business which I have been assisting with both in the UK and in Europe. Business growth in our market is also right on our agenda and taking the business to the Nobia benchmark level of 10% Ebit.

What do you enjoy most about the work you do?

My work is extremely varied, making each day very interesting but also different to the previous one, being influential to the success of both the business in the UK and across Nobia. I aspire to keep improving myself and see Nobia as a business where this can be obtained. 

How would you describe the business culture in a few words?

I would say the business culture is very focused but will reward those people who work hard and achieve good results.

What types of future challenges and opportunities do you foresee in your areas?

Naturally there are always challenges for any business, but I really see Nobia becoming the chosen company for peoples kitchen needs for decades to come.
