Poggenpohl now speaks Japanese

Poggenpohl is now opening the doors of its new kitchen studio in Tokyo. The store in the Japanese capital is the first directly operated studio in Asia, and the 37th worldwide.

Japan is the second largest economy in the world and of particular importance for the Poggenpohl brand.

"The Tokyo metropolitan area, with a total of 35 million inhabitants, is an ideal market for our premium kitchens," says Elmar Duffner, Poggenpohl's business unit manager.

The Asia region is increasingly important for Poggenpohl, with 18 percent of the world's total kitchen sales. Poggenpohl kitchens are currently sold through stores in Bangkok, Bangalore, Hong Kong , Mumbai, Seoul, Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore and Taipei.

"With 1.8 million kitchens sold a year, Japan is the second largest kitchen market in the world," relates Elmar Duffner.

The studio has an exhibition area of 260 square metres and honoured guest for the studio opening on March 10 was the German Ambassador in Japan, Dr. Volker Stanzel. The studio is situated near the Tokyo government building and Roppongi Hills luxury shopping.
